Moulded
Injection Moulded fittings used for Drainage and Stormwater applications. Solo offers a comprehensive range of Watermark approved DWV moulded fittings manufactured to AS/NZS 1260 standard. Fittings include bends, Junctions, Couplers, Saddles, end caps, and Level Inverts. Size range is from 80mm to 300mm
SN4
Fittings from SN4 pipe are fabricated and are suitable for plumbing and domestic use. Fittings include Bends, (fabricated and swept), Junctions, Saddles, End Caps, Level Inverts, Couplers, Adaptors, and Manhole Shorts. Size range is from 80mm to 475mm. Solo also fabricate to customer requirements which may include both smaller and larger than the standard sizes. Bends can be fabricated in both double socket, (SCJ), and spigot socket, (RRJ).
SN16
Fittings from SN16 pipe are fabricated and are suitable for public drainage or where a higher pipe stiffness is required. Product range is similar to SN4. Size range from 100mm to 475mm. All SN16 fittings are supplied with rubber ring joint sockets.
Solo Watercare Wye
The Solo Watercare Wye is an SN16 junction for sewer application fabricated exclusively by Solo. In 2020 Watercare approved the Solo Watercare Wye for use in Sewer application where previously the Lunden was suitable. In many of the Lunden applications only the Solo Watercare Wye is now allowed to be used. The main feature of this product is the 45° branch coming out from the trunk that forms into a 90° angle at the end of the branch, ensuring a straight connection to the main pipe whilst reducing liquid shear. All sizes can be fabricated according to customers’ needs and specifications.
Hydro Starters
PVC gritted starters using a Hydrophilic ring around the gritted section, making it suitable for Waste water gravity networks. A Watercare approved product, the socket end is rubber ring jointed and the product comes in size range from 100mm up to 600mm.
Moulded
Injection Moulded fittings the same as DWV but for Stormwater use only. Product range same as DWV, adding Kerb outlets, inline floodgates, concentric reducers and droppers to the range. Size range from 100mm to 375mm.
Fabricated – Glassed
Solo fabricate a range of stormwater bends, junctions and saddles that are welded and fibreglass reinforced. Sizes range from 150mm to 475mm.
Fabricated – Un-glassed
Solo fabricates a range of stormwater bends, junctions, and saddles that are welded only. Sizes range from 150mm to 475mm.
A key product range at Solo is our range of electrical swept duct bends, formed in a wide variety of radii, diameters, angles and colours. Used in trenched power applications and specifically designed to protect electrical wiring. We are New Zealand’s preferred manufacturer of this essential civil/trade product and hold extensive stocks of standard sizes. The bends are glue joint socketed both ends, and orange is the standard colour deeming it electrical. Diameters range from 32mm to 175mm – 100mm and 150mm being the most popular. The standard radius for the standard products is 2.5 x diameter.
HD
Heavy duty electrical bends are largely for civil applications where no extra mechanical protection is required.
MD
Medium Duty electrical bends are used where extra mechanical protection is required.
Solo manufactures telecommunication bends accepted by major telco authorities to join duct to protect communication and fibre optic cables. These bends comply with Chorus NZ Specification for use in Chorus NZ projects. The product colour is green, and the sizes range from 20mm to 100mm. Solo can manufacture any radius required by the customer. Solo also manufacture Red Telco bends in a Variety of sizes.
Moulded
Our range of moulded uPVC pressure fittings with a rating range from PN10 to PN15. The range includes elbows, end caps, stub flanges, reducing sockets, faucet couplers and bushes. Sizes range from 15mm to 375mm.
Formed
uPVC formed swept pressure bends, available in both solvent cement joint and rubber ring joint. In series 2, 100mm and 150mm, in series 1 SCJ from 32mm to 300mm, and in series 1 RRJ from 50mm to 300mm. In all ranges and sizes, standard angles supplied are 11, 22, 45 and 90 degrees.
Fabricated
Our fabricated pressure range includes reducing sockets and couplers. Sizes range from 100mm up to 300mm. Solo also fabricate pressure bends and Wyes to customer order and specification.
Polyethylene is a lightweight, fully recyclable, durable thermoplastic and one of the most widely used plastics in the world. In the pipe and infrastructure application, it comes in High density, medium density and low density. These applications are for potable and non-potable water, and sewerage systems. The service life of PE fittings is between 50 and 100 years depending on application, design, and application. We love the sustainable nature of PE!

Our moulded range of PE fittings for drainage include extended leg elbows and equal tees. Rated SDR17 they range in standard sizes from 100mm to 630mm.

Our moulded range of PE fittings for Watermain include extended leg elbows, equal tees, hydrant tees, end caps, reducers and flanges. Rated SDR11, they range in standard sizes from 100mm to 630mm.

Sewer / Stormwater
Solo manufacture an extensive range of PE drainage Wye junctions 45 degree both equal – 280mm to 630mm – and reducing – 125mm to 450mm as standard sizes. PE drainage tees also are a manufactured product in sizes ranging from 125mm to 450mm. PE drainage segmented bends in 45 and 90 degrees from 110mm up to 630mm. All fittings in this section are rated SDR17

Watermain
PE watermain segmented bends in 45 and 90 degrees from 110mm up to 630mm are fabricated at Solo. Our flanges are able to be manufactured when stocks of moulded flanges are low, so as to never run out of stock. All fittings in this section are rated SDR11.

Pulling Heads
Standard Pulling Heads are best suited for general pipe pulling operations as they don’t fully seal the pipe against fluids and fine particles. Solo are able to manufacture a Pulling Head to fully seal for Hydro testing purposes. The Pulling Head is butt welded onto the PE pipe string and features a strong rotating eye bolt. Pulling heads are reusable and suitable for directional drilling, slip lining and direct burial. Sizes range from 90mm to 800mm.

Forming
A range of PE swept bends is available in both SDR17 and SDR11. Diameters range from 63mm to 500mm angled at 45 or 90 degrees.

Manhole Connectors
Manhole connectors suitable for PE, are fabricated for sewer using a combination of earthenware pipe and double ringed pressure pipe or, for stormwater using a gritted double ring pressure pipe. The exception is for Watercare commissioned jobs where the earthenware/double ringed pressure pipe product must be used for both stormwater and sewer. The earthenware goes up to a maximum size of 450mm. Upwards of that, the gritted double ring pressure pipe connector can be used.
PVC
PVC pipe is the raw material used at Solo to form and fabricate their fittings. This pipe is also available for sale in 6.0m lengths and includes Orange electrical duct, in Medium or High density, Green Telco Duct, SN16 and DWV pipe. Solo also supply Orange and Grey electrical conduit in 4.0m lengths diameters range from 32mm to 175mm.

PE
Solo supply PE pipe in sizes up to OD 2500mm diameter, upon confirmation of SDR and PN ratings.
Electrofusion welding is a form of resistive implant welding used to join 2 Polyethylene pipes. A fitting with embedded metal coils is placed around 2 pipe ends to be joined. A current is passed through the coils using an external fusion welding machine, melting a small amount of the pipe and fitting. Upon solidification, a joint is formed.
Fittings
Solo stock an extensive range of E/F including Couplers, Elbows, Tees and Tapping Tees, Saddles, Reducers and End Caps. Sizes range from 20mm to 1200mm.
E/F Box Hire
Solo hire out Data Logging E/F S box Welders for Electrofusion welding applicable for Pipe sizes of 25mm to 1400mm. Our welder units are charged out at day hire rates.
Backing Rings are used with stub flanges to join both PE and PVC pipe to pipe of another material or to ancillary equipment such as valves and pumps. Made from galvanised steel, nylon coated steel or 316 stainless steel. Solo stocks a wide range of Backing Rings/Flanges to suit all patterns in the NZ market. Sizes range from 50mm to 900mm and are Table D/E pattern, PN16.

Slotted/Perforated PVC pipe is used for the removal of water from areas requiring drainage. Ideally suited for use in subsurface drainage systems such as sports fields, podium gardens, and retaining walls to name a few. Solo has a standard set of drilling and slotting patterns available. The most common patterns have a minimum diameter of 32mm up to a maximum of 355mm.
